ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Two Anchorage police officers have been removed from patrol duties pending the outcome of an investigation.
The officers have been accused of using excessive force during an arrest for driving while intoxicated in late March. The two were temporarily assigned to clerical jobs, the police department said Wednesday.
The state attorney general's office is looking into the allegations and will determine if further action is warranted.
The police department will not release the names of the officers unless they are criminally charged.
