ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Searchers on Wednesday found the body of man from the Yukon River village of Oscarville who disappeared after a weekend hunting trip.

Alaska State Troopers said searchers found the body of Michael Little in 10 to 12 feet of water in the Kuskokwim River, about 50 feet from where his snowmachine was found.

Little went Ptarmigan hunting a few miles from the village with two other people on Saturday.

His hunting companions said Little left them early and should have arrived in the village that night. When they reached the village at about midnight, Little had not yet returned.

Searchers found snowmachine tracks leading to open water and began dragging the river.

A broken headlight on the Little's snowmachine was probably a factor in the accident, troopers said.
