ANCHORAGE (AP) -- UIC Construction of Anchorage and Barrow, in a joint venture with Washington, D.C.-based Tompkins Builders, is one of two finalists for the $150 million project to build a National Museum of the American Indian, the company said.
The museum will be part of the Smithsonian complex in Washington.
''This project is a perfect fit with UICC's desire to expand into new markets where the possibility exists to work with other Indian-owned firms,'' general manager Ed Byrne said.
UICC is owned by Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corp., the Native village corporation for Barrow.
