Elks hold free skate day

Car wash, garage sale fundraiser set
The Kenaitze Indian Tribe Native Youth Olympic team will hold a car wash and garage sale fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Kenai Middle School. For more information, call Deb Coveyou at 252-9488.
Community cleanup scheduled
The Kenai Peninsula Cleanup event will be held Monday through May 12. Trash bags are available from the Kenai and Soldotna chambers of commerce and Nikiski Post Office. A free barbecue will be held from noon to 3 p.m. May 12 at the Green Strip Park in Kenai, Farnsworth Park in Soldotna and 3:30 p.m. at the hockey rink in Nikiski. Drawings for prize money will be held for registered youth groups and a boys and girls bicycles will be drawn for children 10 and under.
Methamphetamine to be discussed
Soldotna Community Schools and Soldotna Police Department DARE program in partnership with the Triumvirate Theatre will present the documentary “Dying for Meth” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the theatre in the Peninsula Center Mall. The movie shows the negative effects of the drug on individuals, families and communities. For more information, call 262-6768.
