The nationwide ACT date for college-bound high school students is June 11. Registrations must be postmarked by Friday. Late registration postmark is May 20 and an additional fee is required for late registration.
ACT now includes an optional writing test. Some colleges will require writing scores from students entering college in the fall of 2006, though most colleges do not require writing scores. Students should check the admission requirements prior to taking the test. The cost is $42 with the writing test and $28 without.
Students who take the writing test will add 30 minutes to the normal three-hour test time.
