Bus drivers get day of appreciation

Posted: Wednesday, May 04, 2005

Friday has been proclaimed School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Drivers and attendants are trained professionals to whom the community entrusts the safety and well-being of children. The drivers are in charge of the bus and the students during their rides to and from school. They often are called on to make decisions that affect the health and safety of their passengers, sometimes in life-threatening situations. Laidlaw depends on the drivers to deliver students safely in snow, sleet, rain and storms.

Laidlaw urges the citizens of the Kenai Peninsula Borough to recognize the school bus drivers and attendants for their efforts in providing safe transportation.
