The Hanshew Middle School band program will present a concert Thursday. This group put on a performance each year for the students.
Thursday, there will be a meeting at 7 p.m. at Soldotna Middle School for parents of the school's grade six students. Parents are encouraged to attend in order to better prepare for transition to the next level of school this fall.
On Tuesday, Skyview High School will host the Parade of Bands program, which relies on parents getting their child to that site by 6 that evening. Should this be a problem, families are encouraged to partner the child with a classmate who is able to attend. The concert features elementary band students playing with the high school band in joint concert setting that begins at 7 p.m. More musicians generate a sound that most students have not heard.
Five students in the Quest program Eric Skjold, Wesley Matthews, David Bell, Daniel Rozak and Jason Johnson competed in the Future Problem Solving state bowl at Soldotna High School and placed third in the skit.
