Man accused of videotaping girls changing in his home

PALMER (AP) -- A Houston man was arrested Thursday on charges of indecent photography after authorities found two hidden cameras in his cabin, along with dozens of videotapes of teen-age girls and young women changing clothes, Alaska State Troopers reported.

The arrest of Timothy Christoffersen, 43, came about in a roundabout way. A 15-year-old girl told her parents Christoffersen had given her alcohol at a party Saturday night, then tried to sexually abuse her, troopers said.

The parents confronted Christoffersen on Sunday and assaulted him, at which point he fled in his car, troopers reported. The parents then went into his cabin and discovered some of the evidence.

Investigators got a search warrant and seized the tapes. Troopers say they've identified three victims under age 18, but there could be as many as 15 victims altogether.

The troopers decided the accusations against Christoffersen involving the 15-year-old were unfounded, but they pieced together a much more chilling picture that stretched over several years.

Christoffersen told teen-age girls and young women that he was a fashion photographer. The women modeled swim suits and evening gowns for him to photograph.

But he also placed hidden cameras in a changing room and the bathroom of his cabin, according to troopers, then secretly taped the girls and women as they changed and showered.

Christoffersen was being held at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $10,000 bail. He's charged with eight counts of indecent photography, and more charges are expected.
