The Skyview girls soccer team defeated Houston in Houston Friday 3-0. The teams played the first half to a deadlock, ending the period without a point between them.
Panther coach Tony Lewis said the break stirred up his team, and they came out ready to win.
"In the second half, we were gone with the wind," he said.
Jamie Beever contributed the first point in the 41st minute, with an unassisted goal from 20 yards out. The second goal came from Marina Holt in the 57th minute, after an assist from Jenny Carpenter. Anne Verba, in the 62nd minute, contributed an unassisted goal from about 20 yards out, to close out the game.
The Panthers' record is 2-3.

Kenai girls 4, Grace Christian 0
The Kenai Central girls soccer team beat Grace Christian Academy 4-0 Saturday in Anchorage.
The first score came from Kirsten Ehrhardt four minutes into the first half. Next, with 15 minutes on the clock, Jamie Montgomery scored an unassisted goal.
Angelica Carreon received an assist from Amy Fisher with 40 minutes on the clock.
At 28 minutes in the second half, Rachel Stretch scored off a Karli Knudsen assist.
Friday, the Kardinals lost to Wasilla, 1-0 at Wasilla. Their record is now 3-2-1.
