Anchorage police launch search for missing woman

ANCHORAGE (AP) Anchorage police were searching for a woman who recently moved from Talkeetna.

The family of Bethany Beth'' Correira, 21, reported her missing Sunday afternoon.

Correira is 5-foot-6 and 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was living in an apartment downtown near the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. Her family said Correira had missed appointments to call or meet her mother, brother and boyfriend on Saturday and Sunday.

Police said the case appears more suspicious than most because the apartment next door to Correira's burned early Sunday morning. When police started looking for the woman, they found her car and personal belongings still at her apartment.
