Cook Inlet Academy

Charles Crapuchettes, Cook Inlet Academy's beloved "Mr. C" passed away Thursday. After retiring as CIA's principal at the end of the 2003 school year, Mr. C returned to his birth place in China to teach English. He had a heart attack while teaching his classes at Kunming International School. Services will be held at a later date.

The parents and staff thank the many people who participated in the spring benefit concert and who provided quilt squares and materials for the "Petals of My Heart" quilt. Raffle tickets for the quilt will be available throughout the summer. The drawing will be held at the annual fall banquet.

Students of the week are Caleb Lyons, Kiana Beddow, Makenna Rosin, Kayla Moore, Ellie Nelson, Janice Scritchfield, Owen Phillips, Kellsi Ulnich and Nathan Larson.

Mr. Vavilov will provide two summer math classes and individual tutoring sessions in June. Each session earns one-half credit. Classes are open to all junior high and senior high students. The registration deadline is May 28. For more information, call the school office..

The spring band concert is at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The borough track meet is Friday and Saturday at Skyview.

The senior high luau is Friday evening at Liberty Baptist Church.

May 10 is the awards banquet.

Graduation is May 16.
