This week, the kindergarten through second-graders made butterflies and bugs in art class. Students also spent the week learning about Queen Esther in Bible class. Mrs. East received a postcard from Flat Stanley, who is exploring New Zealand with friends. The picture on the postcard showed natives of the Mauori tribe.

In Mrs. Pribbenow's third- through fifth-grade class, students are working on illustrations for their individual books, which will be published.

The sixth- through eighth-graders are watching "Citizen Kane" in their creative arts class. Both seventh- and eighth-graders are learning trigonometry. Students also are listening to Mr. Toliver read "The Catcher in the Rye" and are studying the immune system in health.

Field hockey is the focus at recess lately.

Happy birthday to Kaeleen Martin, who celebrated on Saturday.

There are four more weeks of school left.

For more information on the school, call administrator Adele Pribbenow at 283-3150.
