Poker tournament helps Hospice

Posted: Thursday, May 05, 2011

On behalf of the directors, staff and volunteers of Hospice of the Central Peninsula, we would like to thank the Kenai Peninsula Poker Association, and especially Ed and Jude Marsh, for the support to hospice by giving time and efforts to host a Poker tournament that generated funds shared for hospice.

We depend on our trained volunteers as they are the backbone of our organization. Our trained volunteers support terminal patients, their caregivers and family to meet the transition from life through death, and to cope with loss and grief.

Last fiscal year we served 42 clients with an average age of 69.

We deeply appreciate the support of our community that profoundly helps our organization provide quality services at no charge.

Marquitta M. Andrus; Executive Director, Hospice of the Central Peninsula
