An event in observance of National Day of Prayer is planned for noon in front of the Legislative Information Office (old court house) in Kenai to honor and pray for those who lead and protect our country and our community. Color guard will be provided by the American Legion and VFW, Pastor Rick Cupp and Pastor Pisa Famui will lead the gathering. All are welcome.

A community training on how to address the victimization of people with disabilities is scheduled for May 13. The speaker will be Leslie Myers, of the Vera Institute of Justice and creator of DART. The meeting is at the Quality Inn, Kenai Spur Highway, Kenai. Ninilchik Senior Citizens Annual Endowment Dinner and Pie Auction will be held at 5 p.m. on May 14 at 66423 Aspen Ave., Ninilchik. Doors open at 4 p.m. Prime rib dinner is $20 per person. Tim Navarre will be auctioneer. Homemade pies and more to be auctioned. There will also be door prizes and a silent auction. Limited seating, so reserve your spot early.
