Talk about duty above and beyond the call of duty!
On a Friday evening I developed a toothache that progressively became worse during the night. Saturday morning I called his office expecting an answering machine but felt I had to at least try. I did get the answering machine, but the message also included an emergency telephone number.
Making the call, his wife explained that the dentist was not available at that time but she was able to get in touch with him. He prescribed a pain pill and asked me to meet him at his office at 7 p.m. that evening.
I was informed that my pain could be coming from one of two teeth, or even possibly both teeth. After a consultation, we decided to treat the most obvious tooth.
Sunday morning I woke up with another toothache, the pain worse then the day before. Another telephone call to my dentist. After explaining my dilemma, he asked how soon I could get to his office.
Not only did this dentist give willingly of his free time, but also this was Easter weekend. Thank you Dr. John Selden for being my very capable dentist and also for your caring attitude. Thank you and your children for being so understanding. I really did feel terrible calling during Easter weekend.
By the way, Dr. John was able to spend time with his mother, Rita, on Easter. She was the dental assistant during both of my weekend visits.
The people of the central peninsula are truly lucky to have a professional like Dr. John Selden.
