Soldotna Elementary

The Splash Into Summer Reading program assembly will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the gym. Parents are welcome to attend.

This is Teacher Appreciation Week, and the PTA invites parents to pick an apple off the Apple Tree to let teachers and support staff know they are appreciated. Thanks to the Soldotna Elementary staff for all you do.

There will be no hot lunches served after May 15, so the PTA will sell pizza and drinks at lunch time for $2.50.

The awards assembly will be at 9 a.m. May 21. Everyone is invited.

Parents are invited to join children for lunch on the last day of school. Hot dogs and "fixings" will be provided by the PTA.

In Miss Kim and Miss Kathy's preschool classes, the children have been busy this spring. They learned about dinosaurs, their bones and their fossils. The children made dinosaur gardens that have grown big. Thanks to Larry Willard, the artist in the school, for making dinosaur paper from scratch with the children. They had a great time with the paper-making project, especially adding the dinosaurs on top of the paper. The children now are studying farms and the animals that live there. Thanks to Echo Lake Farm and Feed for letting students visit on Thursday.
