Cook Inlet Academy

Fourth-graders are working on a unit on fish tanks and planning a camping trip to Ninilchik on May 15 and 16.

Sixth-graders also are planning a camping trip on May 15 and 16 with the destination to be announced.

CEF will host a skating party at Alaska Great Skate from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday. The cost is $3,75, and the party is open to students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Students of the week were Garyn Munn, for understanding in science class; Caleb Pollard, for improvement in Bible memorization; Steven Carter, for doing very well in science; Makenna Rosin, for being brave at the hospital; Hilary Domke, for excellent Shurley test A++; Blake Taplin, for self-control in the classroom; and Kaycee Munn, for helpfulness in the classroom. The National Honor Society student choice of the month was Sharon Lindow for leadership.

There will be a retirement celebration for Mr. Crapuchettes at 6:30 p.m. May 19 in the gym. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served. There is no charge, but attendees are asked to R.S.V.P.

The first-graders put on a play, "Peter Rabbit," for the elementary students and parents. The theme was "obey and you will be glad." The play starred Jeffery McNutt as Peter Rabbit and Mac Wynkoop as Mr. McGregor.

The high school awards banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The theme is "under the sea." Parents are invited, and dessert will be served. The cost is $5.

Preschool graduation is at 3 p.m. Monday.
