She had struggled for many years with acute and chronic health issues.

A memorial Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 9, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Cooper Landing. Father Richard Tero will officiate both services.

She was born Dec. 30, 1966, in Wilberton, Okla., to Jim and Kathy Davidson. The family moved to Anchorage soon after she was born. She moved to Kenai in 1989.

She received her high school diploma and two years of technical office training. She was artistic and created many craft works.

She loved the summer sun and took great pride in her lawn and flower baskets. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog, Duder.

"Mom had the loving heart of an angel. She never had a bad word to say about anyone, and she never complained or asked for anything. Her daughter, Chantal, was her love and her life," her family said.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathy Zak; and grandfather, Albert Johnson.

She is survived by her daughter, Chantal; Bill and Bobby Childers; Dan and Nita Young; Greg and Teresa Nichol; Cody and Jesse Honrud; Lorri and Ernie Ochoa and their children Aaron, Ronnie and Evon of Waco, Texas; father, Jim Davidson of Palmer; close friend, Jim Bains of Anchorage; sisters, Jamie, Katrina and Liz; nieces, Veronica, Merrisa and Alexis of Sacramento, Calif.; stepfather, Gary Zak of Sacramento; grandmother, Billy Jean Johnson; aunts, Berta and Gail of Odessa, Texas; friend, Debi Jean Erickson and her children Holli and Rachel of Sun Valley, Nev.; and many friends from summers in Ninilchik.

In lieu of flowers, educational memorial contributions may be sent to Chantal Schefers at P.O. Box 1483, Kenai, AK 99611.
