Skyview soccer sweeps Seward

The Skyview girls and boys soccer teams picked up victories Monday at Seward.

The Skyview girls won 6-0 to improve their records to 1-9 overall and 1-3 in the Southern Division. Nicole VanRyzin had four goals for the Panthers, while Amanda Millay scored the other two.

The Skyview boys won 5-1. Paddy Iverson had a pair of goals for the Panthers, while Shane Strausbaugh, Tyler Thornton and Erik Dolphin added scores.

The Skyview squads will play at Nikiski today at 4:30 and 6 p.m.

Borough middle school track takes place

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Middle School Track and Field Meet took place Friday and Saturday at Skyview High School. The results follow:

Tebughna students take medals

A pair of students from Tebughna School took medals at the Alaska Native Youth Olympics on April 27, 28 and 29.

Nikki Daniels placed third in the state in the Alaska High Kick at 64 inches, while Marcy “Baby” Standifer placed fourth in the state in the One-hand Reach at 54 inches. It was the second time Daniels placed in the medals and the first time Standifer placed in the medals.
