Clam Gulch and Sheridan Wyo. resident Craig A. Scheckla, 57, died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at his home in Clam Gulch.
Friends and Family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, May 15, at 2 p.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan, Wyo. with a reception following at the Sheridan Holiday Inn.
Mr. Scheckla was born Sept. 24, 1952 in Portland, Ore., one of three children born to Jim and Eleanor Scheckla, and was raised in northern California where he attended McKinleyville High School. He operated a successful trucking business with his wife Karen for most of his adult life and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Craig will be remembered for his passion for his trucking business and his hobbies of hunting and fishing. He loved having fun with friends and family and believed in living life to the fullest.
He is survived by his brothers Curt and Bart Scheckla; one daughter, Connie Scheckla; five step-children Dee Dee Isaacs, Tim, Leo, Rob, and Jack Goss; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family is asking that any memorials be sent to the cancer fund set up for his granddaughter who was recently diagnosed with cancer, Kim Fjell Medical Fund, PO Box 368 Ashland, MT 59003.
Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
