Marshall Boze has agreed to return to the Oilers for the 2002 season.
The former Milwaukee Brewer from Soldotna had two wins and no losses with a team-leading 1.17 earned run average in three starts for the Oilers last season. In addition to his pitching chores, the right-hander will be working with the Oilers pitching staff.
Another Alaskan joining the team is Arizona State University sophomore catcher Garrett Schoenberger from Juneau. Schoenberger red-shirted in 2001 after becoming the only walk-on to make the ASU roster.

Tyler Johnson, a pitcher for the 2000 Oilers, is having a great season with the St. Louis Cardinals Single A team at Peoria. Johnson recently posted a 3-0 won-lost record and is leading the team in strikeouts.
Opening day for the 2002 season is fast approaching. The Oilers will host the second annual Oilers Hardball Tournament on June 8, with the regular season opener scheduled for June 11.
