Business donation allows students to reach for stars

My fifth-grade class at North Star Elementary would like to thank Phillips Alaska Inc. for its generosity! Phillips donated funds which allowed fifth-graders on the Kenai Peninsula to partake in a mission at the Alaska Challenger Center. The class attended a mission on April 29. The students learned a lot about team work and how important math, science and communication skills are for success in future careers.

The class also would like to thank its DARE officer, Trooper Stanton, for a successful and educational year in DARE. A thanks also goes out to Bear Paw Deli & Coffee Shop and the Kenai Elks Lodge for their contributions and support of the drug education program in our schools.
