On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a free appreciation barbecue at the Green Strip Park on Main Street Loop in Kenai. It is sponsored by Peninsula Lions Clubs and ConocoPhillips. Another long-time sponsor Peninsula Sanitation, will pick up the bags along the roadside. If you miss the seniors at Safeway you also may pick up bags at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce office.
