The Student Union at UAA's Kenai River Campus on K-Beach hosted Bandfest on Friday, April 30. Approximately 250 people attended this enormously successful (and free!) concert.
To the local bands who played at our event, Pisces The Ocean, Men with Guns, and 907 thank you all for supporting the college and the community music scene! You were wonderful! Bandfest was the first event of its kind for KPC and a special thank you to Mike Morgan and JD Uponen for warming up the crowd before the official start of Bandfest.
The Student Union also wishes to express special thanks Gary Turner, Director of Kenai Peninsula College, for his enthusiastic support of this event and to Chris Closson, the man behind Bandfest, and Yuzhun Evanoff, Sam Merry, Jon Mann, Ty Kerley, Ryan Helminski, Megan Muir, Krissel Calibo, Jerry Osbourne, Linda Barryman, Brandon Cox, Travis Barnes, Cristal Barton, Suzie Kendrick, Naomi Hagelund, Hannah Heath, Bill Howell, Sue Lee, Bettie Wallace, Paul Landen, Fred Sturman, Carroll Martin, Kelly Harsha, Sophia Taeschner, Jacque Hill, Patty Dombovy, Pam Ward, Phillip Miller, Dave Stang, and many, many others for help with set up, take down, advertising, photography services during the event, and all those other tasks it takes to make an event successful.
And thank you to our many community members, friends, and neighbors who attended this event.
