For the rest of the summer, campus hours will be 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Arrangements will be made for events and classes beyond these hours. Campus will be closed Thursday due to staff development day.
KPC's summer semester begins June 1. Payment is due on or before the first day of class. A late fee of $125 will be assessed on June 7 for classes that begin May or June, or on July 15 for classes that begin in July. A second late fee of $175 will be assessed on Aug. 2. Fall classes will begin Aug. 23. The fall and summer schedules can both be found on KPC's website at www.kpc.alaska.edu.
The Soldotna Benefits fair will be held Thursday - Saturday at KPC's Kenai River Campus. The fair, which is organized by the State of Alaska Division of Retirement and Benefits, will feature many informative presentations that will help attendees plan for their future. The Philanthropic Education Organization is offering a scholarship to women in the amount of $1,500 for the 2010-11 school year. Any woman who has already successfully completed at least two semesters of college and is planning to enroll or has enrolled at KPC is eligible to apply. The deadline for this scholarship is today.
The "National Association of Abandoned Mine Land Programs" is offering a $1,500 scholarship to assist in the education of students who intend to work as scientists or technicians in the field of mine land reclamation. The Soldotna Public Library is offering two $500 textbook scholarships for the 2010-11 school year. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits at an accredited college or university. Applicants must also reside or be attending a college within the Soldotna city limits. The deadline for this scholarship is June 1.
