New Kenai company filling field needs of oil industry

Puget Sound Pipe and Supply Company has recently opened on the Kenai Peninsula to service oil field facilities and support the oil and gas market.

Scott English, Kenai branch manager, said Puget Sound Pipe and Supply has been in business in Anchorage since 1983 and the company thought it was the right time to expand the operation to the peninsula.

The company opened for business March 13 at Mile 15.5 Kenai Spur Highway in Kenai. The 5,000-square-foot warehouse is maintained with an inventory of steel pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, well casing, pumps and accessories.

Puget Sound Pipe is a strictly commercial and industrial oil field parts warehouse.

"Something the peninsula hasn't seen since the oil boom of the 1960s," English said.

The inventory services local refineries, plants, oil field fabrication facilities, well drillers and contractors.

The supply company also represents Alaska Pump and Supply by selling well casings and supplies.

Puget Sound Pipe and Supply Company will celebrate its opening on the peninsula with an open house on June 22. The company will have manufacturers and representatives of products offered on hand to answer questions and explain the products.
