Mother's Day service planned at SolFirst

There will be special recognitions of mothers and grandmothers at the Soldotna First Assembly of God Church Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Each mother will receive a special gift at the service.

SolFirst is behind The Salvation Army store on the Kenai Spur Highway.

Choir to hold musical

The children's choir at Mount Redoubt Baptist Church in Nikiski will hold a musical titled "Zeros into Heroes (The story of Gideon)" Sunday at 11 a.m.

Choir members wanted for musical

Choir members are being sought for "Experiencing God," a musical. It is an outdoor worship event scheduled for June 17.

Rehearsals are being held at four locations. The actual performance will be under the direction of Dr. Gary Bonner, an internationally recognized conductor. The rehearsal locations are as follows:

Kenai Fellowship on Sundays at 3 p.m., Mile 8.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway, 283-7682;

Peninsula Grace Brethren on Sundays at 4 p.m., 44175 Kalifornsky Beach Road, 262-6442;

North Kenai Baptist on Saturdays at 1 p.m., Mile 25 of the Spur Highway, 776-8234; and

Soldotna Church of God on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., 105 Redoubt, 262-4729.

Power of women topic of speech

Pastor Bob Reasner of Abundant Life Assembly will speak at 7 p.m. Monday at The Salvation Army Chapel in Kenai. He will speak on the power of a woman and the influence of her character.

Family Parish Mission set for May

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Soldotna will hold the Family Parish Mission II with Father Andy Mannetta Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m. each day.
