ANCHORAGE (AP) — A homicide victim found in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough near Houston has been identified.

The body of Terell LaVar Houngues, 23, of Anchorage, was found Sunday, Alaska State Troopers said.

Houngues' body was taken to the State Medical Examiner and a forensic exam was done Monday.

Troopers have not re-leased the cause of death but said Houngues apparently died Sunday morning.

A camper found the body Sunday near a four-wheeler trail about a half-mile from Mile 56 Parks Highway. Troopers received the call at 9:21 a.m. and investigators spent much of the day collecting evidence. Investigators are seeking witnesses.

They want to talk to anyone who may have seen something suspicious near Mile 56 Parks Highway, an area across from King Arthur Drive where the trail leads down to a railroad crossing and just before a bridge over the Little Susitna River.
