TES kindergarten visitation Thursday

Tustumena Elementary School will hold its kindergarten visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Mrs. Blossom's classroom. Parents will meet briefly with the principal in the school library after dropping off their student with Mrs. Blossom. For more information, call the school.

Nikiski senior center activities, menus set

The following is a list of activities and menus for the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center. Due to an oversight, they were omitted from Tuesday's Seniors section of the paper.

Activities — Thursday: Bingo at 10:30 a.m., pinochle at 12:30 p.m.; Friday: Weekly drawing, game night at 6 p.m.; Saturday: Scrappy crafters at 11 a.m., body shop facial at 2 p.m.; Sunday: Breakfast cafe from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Monday: book study at 10 a.m., blood pressure checks at 11:30 am., pinochle at 12:30 p.m.

Menus — Today: Barbecue chicken, potato salad, baked beans, birthday cake; Thursday: Cabbage roll, scalloped potatoes, mixed veggies; Friday: Beans, corn bread; Sunday: Breakfast cafe; Monday: Beef enchiladas, Spanish rice, refried beans.

Airport planning takes flight

Kenai Municipal Airport and DOWL Engineers will host a series of public information meetings on land use issues, strategic, financial and facility planning, as well as property management issues at the airport. The next meeting will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Kenai City Council chambers. Subsequent meetings are scheduled for June 13 and July 26.

The project will set the direction for the airport for the next 20 years. For more information, call 283-8231 or (907) 562-2000.

Veterans appreciation dinner planned

The Skyview High School U.S. history students, the city of Soldotna and Soldotna Elks Lodge No. 2706 will host the sixth annual veterans appreciation dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Soldotna Sports Center.

Entertainment begins at 5 p.m., flag presentation by the Young Marines will be at 6 p.m. and the Skyview Swing Choir will sing the national anthem. A short presentation will follow.

A spaghetti dinner with dessert will be served. There is no cost.

This event is for veterans and their families. For more information, call 262-9107.

Community schools dance fund-raiser set

An adult fortnightly will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at Soldotna Middle School.

A fortnightly is an SMS tradition that includes a dance, games and snack bar.

A DJ will play music from the 1960s, '70s and '80s, and the gym will be open for basketball and volleyball. There also will be door prizes.

The cost is $3 per person and proceeds will go to support the Soldotna Community Schools program.
