Soldotna Middle

Alaska Future Problem Solving hosted a state competition at Soldotna High School on April 18 and 19. The team of Theresa Ramponi, Monica Maryott and Mark Youngren placed third in of intermediate presentations of action plan. Hannah Romberg placed third in the individual category.

Gabe Murray is the chamber Student of the Month for April.

Eighth-grade students will visit high schools from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. May 20.

Report cards will be mailed in June unless there are outstanding fees. Students who may still owe class fees need to pay them before the end of the year. A letter from the office will be sent to parents as a reminder whose students have lost books and overdue fees.

Physical education classes are doing fitness testing this week and the two-mile run is Tuesday.

Yearbooks are for sale at the office. Yearbook DVDs available for purchase at the office.

Eighth-grader Emma Miles will go to Anchorage to take part in a job shadow at KTUU, where she will learn about video and photography.

Seventh-grade drama performances of student-written work will be shown Tuesday and May 18 in the school multipurpose room. Both shows will start at 7 p.m. and are free to the public.
