Teachers appreciate PTA support

Posted: Wednesday, May 11, 2011

On behalf of the Kalifornsky Beach Elementary School teachers and support staff, we would like to thank the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and volunteer parents who have gone above and beyond to make Teacher Appreciation Week so special, and for helping make our school a great place to be all year long. Their nice gestures make a cheerful, wonderful way to complete a school year.

Throughout Teacher Appreciation week, copious amounts of food filled a festively decorated teacher's lounge; fun daily door prizes were drawn; and teacher mailboxes were packed with surprises. Day one began as teachers opened their classroom doors to find a beautiful flower in a student-decorated flower pot and a poster filled with typed up personalized teacher appreciation messages from students and posted on the classroom door. Other surprises were planned for staff, like professional chair massages and amazing car washes done by volunteer parents.

Throughout the year our K-Beach PTA has humbly served our community by hosting Bingo for Books, book fairs, a Halloween carnival, and providing snacks and drinks for SBA testing, as well as planning and funding student activities, including: Tye-dying T-shirts, movies, River City Cheer, field trip bus transportation and more.

We sincerely thank the PTA and parent volunteers for dedicating the entire week to take care of the staff, and we thank them for their commitment to students all year long. We think the world of them.
