PALMER (AP) -- An arbitrator's $152,000 damage award against the Matanuska Electric Association has been upheld in federal court.
An MEA lawsuit sought to overturn the award. It stemmed from the use of nonunion electrical workers in six construction projects subcontracted in 1997.
The award to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers covered the difference between contracted and union wages, hours and benefits.
The IBEW says MEA also is responsible for interest on the damage award.
