Students hold bake sale to help support hospice

Posted: Wednesday, May 12, 2004

On behalf of the board of directors, staff and volunteers at Hospice of the Central Peninsula, we appreciate this opportunity to recognize four special students in our community.

Randi Freestone, Chynna Walton, Grace Valencia and Emily Erickson are students at Redoubt Elementary School in Mr. Ball's sixth-grade class.

They wanted to help a local organization. When one of the parents told them of hospice and the services we provide to the community, they wanted to help us. The students organized and participated in a bake sale. It was a great success! They had a lot of support and encouragement from Mr. Ball, the sixth-grade class and their school.

Hospice was invited to a pizza party where they were directly awarded the proceeds. What a joy to receive this thoughtful act of kindness. We were impressed by their willingness to reach out in our community and make a difference. We would like to recognize their leadership and kindness, and we are honored to have made this memory with them.
