Tustumena Elementary

There will be an opportunity to purchase school jackets through Monday for the upcoming year. Jackets will display school colors and have the school's mascot, the Lynx, imprinted on the front. A deposit of $20 is required for those families wishing make this purchase.

Tustumena's certified teacher assignments have been determined for next year. They are: kindergarten, Mrs. Blossom; first grade, Mrs. Hopkins; second grade, Mrs. Worsfold; third grade, Mrs. Klunder; fourth grade, Mr. Michael; fifth grade, Mr. Cowans; sixth grade, Mrs. Knobf; physical education, Mr. Chase; music, Mrs. Biggs; and special services, Mrs. Sinnott and Mrs. Kindred.

The Title I instructor, Carol VanDerWege, reported that there were 81 in attendance last week at the final Title I Family Night of the year. Highlights of the evening were the reading performances of the children and the arrival of cotton candy delivered by Brian Barlow.

The fifth-grade Quest team placed third in a field of 24 teams competing at the annual "Mathlete" contest in Homer last week. The group included Jason Johnson, Daniel Rozak, Wes Matthews and Erik Skjold.

Hanshew Middle School's music students from Anchorage will be present for a vocal and instrumental concert at 10 a.m. Friday. The public is invited to attend.
