This week at Grace Lutheran, the children will enjoy the Bible story of King Hezekiah. In this story, King Hezekiah is ill and, although the illness should have taken his life, he prayed to God, who added 15 years to his life. The children will see how God answers the prayers of believers.

The children in grades three through eight are taking an overnight field trip to Anchorage. On Thursday, they will see a few places in the Anchorage area, including the museum, FBI building, newspaper office and Earthquake Park.

The children in kindergarten through second grade will go on a field trip Thursday, as well, visiting the pet store.

The Hershey Track Meet is coming up, and the kids in grades three through eight are preparing their bodies and muscles for their events. The meet will be at Nikiski Middle-Senior High School on May 21.

Seventh- and eighth-graders are preparing for the end of the year by discussing the World Wars in history class. This week, students are focusing on World War I, including its causes, how it was fought and the outcome.

The fourth- through sixth-graders watched a video on the 1898 Harriman Expedition to Alaska. They now are working on projects that go along with the video.

The eighth-grade graduation service will be at 7 p.m. May 26 in the church. Anyone interested may attend.

Anyone interested in the school's preschool through eighth-grade program next year should contact Dennis Leckwee at 283-9551 for a visit or brochure. Enrollment is being accepted.
