Soldotna boys soccer leaves Seward seeing Stars

The Soldotna boys soccer team traveled to Seward Saturday and defeated the Seahawks 7-1. The Stars were led in scoring by Jason Dunagan and Peter Kim, who netted two goals each.

Soldotna coach Jeff Siemers said his team dominated the game.

"We pretty much controlled the game the majority of the time," he said. Seward's goal was on a penalty kick.

Bulldogs take 1 out of 3

Nikiski girls 4, Houston 1

The Nikiski girls soccer team took a three-game road-trip to the Anchorage and Matanuska-Susitna Valley areas, and returned with one victory and two losses.

The highlight of the trip was the Friday victory against Houston, in which the Bulldogs defeated the Hawks 4-1. Amanda Weaver scored three goals and Rainey Reilly added another for the win.

The Bulldogs took defeat from Colony on Thursday, however, losing 11-0. Nikiski lost again on Saturday to the Palmer Moose 4-0.
