Parent appreciates business leaders' support for education

As a parent of a child attending Redoubt Elementary School, I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank both Kathy Gensel at Wells Fargo Bank in Soldotna and Mic Galic at Soldotna Safeway.

My child's class went on field trips to these businesses during the week of May 10 through 14. I accompanied the class and was very impressed by the way both people showed the kids around their respective business. They spent extra time explaining (using language a child could understand) how things are accomplished in different areas. All the little "extras" they included in their tour were thoroughly enjoyed by the students.

Some of these children are very likely to be our "leaders of tomorrow" as the future progresses, so it is good that they are given opportunities such as this.

Again, many thanks to the both of you for making time in your busy schedules to include our kids. Also, kudos to our teachers as well for planning such informative field trips!

We can all be proud of our educational system here on the Kenai Peninsula. We have some mighty fine instructors.
