HUGHES (AP) The Koyukuk River village of Hughes is recovering from flooding that tipped over two oil tanks, according to state emergency workers.
An ice jam about 8 miles above the village caused flooding Monday.
One of the toppled tanks had some minor leaks. The other was floating on the river.
However, floodwater was receding and homes remained safe, officials said.
There were no plans to evacuate the village of 69 people about 370 miles northwest of Anchorage.
