PITTSBURGH Richard Hidalgo hit a tiebreaking three-run, ninth-inning double off Mike Williams (0-2) that was just out of the reach of right fielder Rob Mackowiak. Houston rallied from a 3-1 deficit to beat Pittsburgh for the 10th straight time.

MILWAUKEE Shawn Estes (4-3) won his third straight decision, getting a victory on the road for the first time this season.

SAN FRANCISCO Vladimir Guerrero, hitless in his previous 13 at-bats, singled in the first, doubled in the third and homered in the seventh off Kurt Ainsworth (3-3). The Expos (24-15) turned five double plays and moved nine games over .500 for the first time since July 17, 1997.

LOS ANGELES Gary Sheffield hit a tiebreaking homer in the eighth off Paul Quantrill (0-2). The Braves are 23-4 after losing eight of their first 12. It's their best 27-game stretch since 1954.

SAN DIEGO Ramon Vazquez singled in the winning run in the 10th against Braden Looper (3-2), sending Florida to its their first loss in three games under new manager Jack McKeon. San Diego had lost three straight and 13 of 15.
