Soldotna resident Frank E. "Ed" Carreiro Jr., died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. He was 47.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Carreiro was born Oct. 1, 1955, in Meriden, Conn. He was a high school graduate. He moved to Alaska in 1992, living in Anchorage. He moved to the Soldotna area in 2002 and was self-employed.
He loved old movies, music, family and a good joke.
"Frank, known to friends and family as Ed, will be long remembered for his infectious laugh. His nieces, Sarah and Carly, will miss their rides with him in the go-cart,'" his family said.
Mr. Carreiro is survived by his mother, Lois Carreiro of Middletown, Conn.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynn A. and Michael J. Lund of Sterling and Susan Harper and Peter David Klein of Makawao, Hawaii; nieces and nephew, Carly Anne Lund of Sterling, Sarah Nichols and husband, Josh, of Palm Bay, Fla., and Mary Kennedy Klein and Beau Klein both of Makawao; and close friends, Dianne and Gary Cronin and their children, Ashley, Kelsey and Kristin, all of Soldotna.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
