ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A Wasilla teen-ager was killed in a single-vehicle accident over the weekend, the Alaska State Troopers say.

Allen Hoversten, 16, was declared dead at the scene early Saturday after losing control of his pickup and veering into a ditch, troopers said. He was thrown from the vehicle.

An 18-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Troopers said they were continuing their investigation.
