ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Alaska Airlines is teaming up with the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute to promote the state's wild salmon.
During May and June, Alaska Airlines will distribute 300,000 Alaska salmon bookmarks to passengers on southbound flights.
The bookmarks contain information about Alaska's waters, the sustainable management of the salmon fishery and the health benefits of salmon.
The bookmarks will be included as part of the passenger meal service.
The effort is being funded out of a three-year $5 million federal grant that pays for numerous salmon promotional projects, said ASMI's Laura Fleming.
