Resource transportation forum set for June 2

The Anchorage Hilton will host the Alaska Resource Transportation Forum sponsored by the Alaska Resource Development Council, Alaska Miners Association, the U.S. Department of Transportation Maritime Administration and the Transportation Institute.

The one-day conference will be held June 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is intended to provide practical logistics tools and expert knowledge for moving Alaska resources to domestic and international markets.

Murkowski seeks tech award nominees

U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski asks that Alaskans submit nominations for the 2003 National Medal of Technology, the highest honor this country bestows on American innovators.

The president presents the award to individuals, teams of individuals or companies who have improved the American economy and quality of life by their contributions to technology. Nominations should be submitted to the U.S. Department of Commerce by May 23.
