Homer resident Kyle De Vaney, 17, completed his Eagle Scout leadership service project April 30. The project is just one step on a lengthy journey to the Eagle Scout rank, the highest honor a Boy Scout can achieve. In cooperation with the city of Homer, members of Troop 365, his dad, Darren De Vaney, and his grandpa, Mike De Vaney, Kyle helped plan and make a lost and found box for the Homer Airport Terminal. Kyle has 10 months to complete the rest of his required merit badges and fulfill his attendance and participation requirements or, on his 18 birthday, he will be too old to receive his Eagle badge.
