Relay for Life meeting set

A Relay for Life captain’s meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. today in the Kiska Room at 245 N. Binkley St. For more information, call Penny at 260-8031.

Scouting informational meting set

A Brownie Girl Scout parent informational meeting for girls in grades one through three who attend Redoubt Elementary School will be held from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday. For more information, call 262-8551.

Community fun fest set to entertain

Grace Lutheran School and church will host a community fun fest and open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the school on Ciechanski Road. Activities will include carnival games, dyno-jump, laser shoot, prize drawings every half hour and free hot dogs, pop and cotton candy. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Kasilof cemetery cleanup set

The Kasilof Cemetery cleanup will be held from 1 to 4 a.m. Sunday. A picnic at the See residence will follow. Participants are asked to bring rakes and gloves; bags will be provided. For more information, call Janice See at 283-9243.

Library director welcomed

The Friends of the Kenai Community Library will host a welcoming reception for library Director Mary Jo Joiner and City Manager Rick Koch from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 24 at the library. It is open to the public.

Community Pandemic Flu Seminar slated

The Alaska Department of Public Health and Social Services, in conjunction with the city of Kenai and the Kenai Peninsula Borough Office of Emergency Management, will sponsor a free community pandemic flu seminar June 12 through 14 in Kenai.

The state will fund travel and lodging for those living more than 50 miles from Kenai. For more information, times and location, call Bonnie Hanson at 262-4910.
