Writer wants golf course to stay open

Posted: Friday, May 16, 2008

It is so unfortunate that our local leaders and bureaucrats can't see the opportunity of the future for their quaint little city. I have had the luxury to use this great facility for the past 18 years and would feel cheated if the passing of the guard fell into the hands of an unprepared proprietor.

I trust that the city of Soldotna can manage their future and mission advantageously by making the most obvious decisions for the benefit of all that live in this area and would like to visit this recreational haven.

That, of course, is not rejecting money by grant for the benefit of all.

I hope all can hear the words of a past course operator and a professional golfer, who has been intimately involved in this fabulous game for over 50 years, that helps create honestly, loyalty and integrity.

Thank you Pat and Myrna for developing an area of promise for our future to enjoy. May the city have the foresight to realize the importance of your accomplishment and take advantage offered to them in expanding the game, the area and the beauty of Soldotna.
