ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A light earthquake rattled Fairbanks Wednesday afternoon.
The Alaska Earthquake Information Center reported the quake had a magnitude of 3.8 and was centered 44 miles southeast of Fairbanks.
The quake occurred at 2:58 p.m.and was felt in the Fairbanks area, but there have been no reports of injuries or damages.
The earthquake information center said the quake was in the same Salcha seismic zone as the 7.3 magnitude quake that struck in 1937.
