Ned Clooten and company will hold football camp Monday through May 26. This camp is for incoming and current seventh- and eight- grade boys and girls. The camp will focus on fundamentals and offensive skills, as well as what to expect in high school football. Space is limited.

The Pepsi Pitch, Hit and Run is scheduled for June 1 with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Nikiski pool. This is a free competition for boys and girls ages 7-14.

This event is intended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the fun element of baseball competition. The competition allows youngsters to show their pitching, hitting and running abilities. Since there is no registration fee for the program, every participant will have a chance to compete. Ribbons and baseball cards will be given to participants. The North Peninsula Recreation Service Area and the Lighthouse Community Church are registering boys and girls in grades first through eighth for soccer camp.

The camp will be June 6-8 at the Nikiski pool fields from 1 to 3 p.m. The church has invited Henry Jamieson, soccer coach from Taylor, S.C. to give instruction on soccer fundamentals, skills and drills. Forms are available at the pool and the church. Deadline to register is June 3.

The Nikiski Senior Citizens Center invites you to stop in and see the custom jewelry box and bandana quilt they are raffling. The proceeds will help the center with their activities and senior housing project.

Seniors, are you tired of sitting at home? Did you know every Friday at 6 p.m. you can join other seniors at the senior center for fun and game night. There is no charge, just bring your favorite snack to share. For more information, call the center at 776-7654.

Volunteer's and participants will be at the Nikiski track field on Friday at 9 a.m. for the Hershey Track and Field Meet. Participants are encouraged to get plenty of sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and do stretches.
