Anchor Point resident Lawrence R. "Larry" Thoma died Monday, May 9, 2005, at his home. He was 51.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Homer. Pastor Brad Traxler will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, Mark, Daniel and Kenneth Thoma, and his nephews, James and Justin Thoma.
Mr. Thoma was born March 19, 1954, in Princeton, Minn. He was a high school graduate. He moved to Alaska in August 1987 and resided near Anchor Point. Due to a disability, he hadn't worked. He was associated with the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Mr. Thoma was preceded in death by his grandparents; uncles; and stepmother, Amy Thoma.
He is survived by his father, James Thoma of Browerville, Minn.; mother, Mary Marcotte of Verndale, Minn.; daughter, Angela John and her husband, Shane, of Homer; grandchildren, Sonarae and Serena John of Homer; brothers, Mark Thoma and his wife, Jeanne, of Eagle Bend, Minn., Daniel Thoma and Nora Young of Homer and Kenneth Thoma and his wife, Tracy, of McHenry, Ill.; sisters, Rita Ondieki and husband, Lamech, of Blaine, Minn., and Cheryl Kroyer and husband, Jim, of Blaine; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be sent to Angela John, 1192 Lynn Way, Homer, AK 99603.
