Kalifornsky Beach Elementary

Hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks will be provided. PTA will serve the students a hot dog lunch on the last day of school. Parents will not need to send a lunch that day. Bring any type of cookies May 25. To help with either event, contact Donna Burcham at 262-2516.

The Quest Math Bowl participated in Team Problems, Math Puzzlers and the Lightening Round in Seward. Congratulations to Heidi Westerman, Olivia Tice, Johnathan Kreider, Jacob Lawson and Joseph Rife.

First-graders have been reading stories about trying. They did an Eric Carle author study this week and the centers focused on making caterpillars, playing Cootie, making butterfly treats and measuring. They also counted coins and identified shapes.

Mrs. McBee's and Mrs. George's students will go on field trips to Slikok Creek and the Meyer homestead in Kasilof. They also have studied decomposing agents and food webs.

Dates to remember:

n Monday— Reading is Great meeting;

n May 25 — 7:15 a.m. student council meeting; and

n May 25 — Sixth-grade continuation ceremony at 6 p.m.
